Chui has been with us for 20 years. He grew up in Shela on Lamu Island and has lived here all his life. Consequently he knows the village, the island and the surrounding area very well. He's also a certified tour guide and can speak fluent English, native Swahili and some Italian and will gladly take you out and about exploring. Chui is your main point of contact during your stay and will do everything he can to make sure you have a fabulous time.

Chengo has worked at Deuli House for many years and is our highly regarded cook. He trained for 3 years at an Italian hotel and can prepare an enticing variety of local and international meals for you, both at the house or for picnics. When he's not busy in the kitchen he enjoys looking after our garden. Always with a smile! 

For extra peace of mind, our Night Watchman is on duty all night. He keeps a watchful eye on the house and gardens from dusk till dawn, and can provide any late night assistance you may need.

Our lovely smiley house maid will make sure your bedroom is always clean and tidy, ensuring your stay with us is as charming, care-free and relaxing as possible.
